My friend’s daughter (the amazing Mary Rose who’s in the photo with me) has spent a lot of time in Crumlin over the years but I think this was a record at 66 days. RMCD was such a godsend to the family as someone needed to be with Mary Rose every night but it meant Margie, Kieran and Billy could take it in turns. When Mary Rose started her recovery we could even have picnics in the RMCD garden. I met a mother in there with a very sick baby who told me it was an unbelievable relief when she could bring the baby to RMCD for a few hours, without the beeps of the hospital. It truly is such a haven for families going through the worst situations.
Im completing the Longford marathon on 28th august (walking) and as it’s my first and probably last marathon I figure I should raise money for a cause close to my heart
