Thirsty Koalas in Adelaide

I have been overwhelmed by the generosity of my donors from around the world who are so passionate about the koalas throughout the whole of South Australia and I’m very proud of my contribution.
It’s amazing to think that this was all sparked by one video of my encounter with “Kodak the Koala" in the Adelaide Hills in December 2019. That video went viral and subsequently I received world-wide media attention - which in turn led to me kicking off this fund-raising effort.
Since initially working with AKR, I have also been invited to see the work being undertaken by other koala and wildlife rescue organisations in South Australia (including Kangaroo Island) which has been a wonderful experience.
Unfortunately, not all of these organisations in South Australia have been the recipient of as much media attention and/or donations as AKR. Therefore, to ensure the best care for koalas and wildlife across the State of South Australia (including Kangaroo Island), I have decided to apportion approximately $12K each to AKR and 3 other registered koala charity organisations in South Australia. The other 3 charities are the Adelaide Koala Hospital established in 2014, the RSPCA in South Australia and the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Network established in 2015.
The 3 other koala charities that I have spoken to are extremely grateful for this donation and are very happy to share the distribution of monies.
