<div>After a quick trip to Miami for brain scan and a day of radiation…I found out that

<div>The largest tumor in my brain can’t be radiated again and must be removed surgically and quickly because of its rapid growth and resistance to radiation. 

</div>

<div>(it’s in my cerebellum).

</div>

<div>I’ll need to have brain surgery 

</div>

<div>In Miami 

</div>

<div>Pensacola isn’t an option 

</div>

<div>there isn’t even a brain surgeon at my hospital. 

</div>

<div>And I’ll need to stay about two weeks (possibly three) 

</div>

<div>To wait to recover and for the brain swelling to go down. 

</div>

<div>This is a difficult time for me financially…my car was hit by an un insuranceed motorist (they broke my impact guard), I don’t have glasses, Christmas is coming…my co pays just went up and my Medicaid share of costs…and my drugs (chemo and immunotherapy) get taxed 100% Oct 1!   But, I suppose there is never a good time to have brain surgery…right?!!

<div>And now I have to cover food, housing and uber rides for the surgery and appointments.

<div>I also really need someone to come with me or to at least check me in and out of surgery. 

</div>

<div>The American cancer society has an air bnb resource 

</div>

<div>But, you have to apply and be approved about a month in advance and there is no time for that.  I’ll be in surgery before then. I have also used my 7 free rides to treatment (that’s 7 in a lifetime).

<div>I hate to ask for help again.  I KNOW things are difficult for everyone.  But, I have been left no choice.  I will make this happen.
