Thieves Strip Dream

Business partners Lotoya Brown and Wanda Canty planned to open a senior daycare and a 24-hour child daycare.  They mortgaged their home and purchased a beautiful building in the City of Detroit only to have vandals over the weekend strip the building of its powerlines, copper, heating system, and windows.  Walls, bathroom fixtures, flooring, and ceilings are all destroyed.  This has been a 20-year dream for the two Social Workers who have a love for working with vulnerable populations of youth and seniors.   The building only needed paint and flooring.  It is now in need of a total rehab to save the business to provide these much needed services to the community.  Because the building was not occupied, there was no company willing to insure the building at the time of purchase.  The building was purchased January 8, 2020.
