The Twelve Film

Donation protected
If we cannot solve our planets problems with the same mindset that created them, where can we turn to for answers? The feature length documentary "The Twelve" follows twelve wise masters from around the globe, each carrying an important and long forgotten piece of understanding about our connection to our planet and each other. We watch as these masters leave their homes, some of them for the first time, and travel to New York to meet this November. Together they will work on delivering an actionable plan to help transform social, environmental and economic paradigms we are facing today.
Told exclusively through the voices of these masters, we capture their ways of living, their traditions and rituals, how they relate to nature and their community. We see first hand the environmental issues some of the masters are facing today and what is motivating them to leave their homes and enter the concrete jungle that is New York to share with each other and us, their profound understanding of how to live on this earth in harmony with oneself and nature.
The twelve masters are from Botswana, Gabon, Australia, Alaska, Siberia, Japan, Nepal, Brazil, Ethiopia, Colombia, Mexico and Indonesia. Each of the masters hold a different piece to this greater puzzle of innate wisdom. This film does not idealize their way of life. Rather, it searches for ways that indigenous people have succeeded in where the modern world has failed. The elders can contribute a vital source of inspiration in the search for solutions to our global problems, both practically and spiritually.
