Sugarbakers Kitchen & Food License

Let's help get Erin to her goal of obtaining her Cottage Food License. In Georgia, to sell at festivals, events or stores, you must obtain a Cottage Food License to prepare foods at home and sell to the public as packaged goods. It is a strict process and requires an onsite inspection. Preparing in her current home kitchen is very difficult, with almost no counter space and zero additional storage for prepared items. With her kitchen arranged as it is now, she will not pass this inspection. Overhauling her kitchen to obtain the license is a massive project and will cost a lot of money. Let's show Erin and her business, the Sugarbakers, just how much we believe in her! The city of Atlanta could use a business like this! Let's help her get over that business startup hump, get her kitchen certified and her business finally out into the public!

The checklist for the Cottage Food License includes:
1) Completely separate storage for prepared goods. This design includes large mini fridge for separate food handling

2) Pristinely clean countertops and backsplash for food prep, along with a separate food prep area for packaging. This design includes replacement countertops and brand new subway backsplash to replace broken and porous tile

3) Separate packing area. This design includes a new packaging area added to the rear of the kitchen where there are currently no countertops

4) NOT required for the Cottage License, but Erin gets many large order requests that she is not able to accommodate due to a very small working counter space AND a single oven. This design includes rearranging the kitchen to allow for double the amount of workable counter space. It also includes a double oven to accommodate larger orders.
