These children deserve a chance - The Nakyessa Project
Donation protected
Nakyessa is a small, sleepy village about two hours from Uganda's capital, Kampala. But Nakyessa is more than that—it’s a place that provides 150 children with a safe and secure home. It’s a place where warm meals are served, where adults care for the children, and where the foundation for their future is being built.
Among these children, 50 are orphans. They have lost their parents in various ways or were abandoned by them. These orphans often have no roof over their heads and struggle to survive on the harsh streets. This is where the school in Nakyessa steps in. It provides a roof, clean beds, daily meals, and most importantly, education. Nakyessa serves not only as an orphanage for these 50 vulnerable children but also as a school for them and another 120 children from the surrounding area.
All this work requires a solid financial foundation. This is where Justine Kityo became aware of the difficult situation at the orphanage and decided to help. At that time, there was a lack of everything—beds and mattresses in the dormitories, clean classrooms, and even a simple daily meal for the children.
Thanks to immense dedication, the basics are now covered. The classrooms are clean, a remarkable donation campaign provided beds and mattresses, and the resources and facilities for daily meals are now available.
Looking ahead, the plans for the future include gradually renovating the buildings, equipping the school with better materials, and establishing a medical clinic to ensure the children’s health and well-being.
And this is exactly where Justine needs your help! Every contribution is welcome, no matter how big or small. Just €5 can ensure the survival of a child for an entire month—a child who deserves a chance!
