Roxy's Surgery Costs & Rehab

Donation protected
On Friday, December 30, 2016 at 8pm 3-4 masked males attempted to rob my house. Roxy was barking at the back sliding glass door which always means someone or something is out in the front yard. I let her in & she bolted to the front door. I had been expecting a buddy to come hang out and watch the Boston Celtics game. So when I went to open the front door I assumed it was my friend I was expecting. I opened the door & Roxy wedged herself out onto the front step to greet whoever was here as she always does. When I opened the front door I saw a light skinned male that did not look familiar. Before I could react in anyway Roxy got through the front door & was immediately shot from point-blank range, arms-length away from me. I heard Roxy yelp & I slammed the front door & bolted out the back sliding door that was still open in absolute fear for my own life. I jumped my neighbors fence & hoped they were home; I got my neighbors attention, grabbed a knife & ran back into my house through the front door that was wide open. I anticipated the worse & assumed my mama bear Roxy was dead. God must have been watching over my angel however, because when I entered the house I found Roxy alive & panting next to the kitchen to bleeding out everywhere. I grabbed a towel and tied it to stop the bleeding & loaded Roxy into my car & raced to the 24-hr Vet Hospital 15 minutes away.
The bullet severed the nerve that allows dogs to raise their paw when they walk; there was also still pieces of bullet shrapnel in her body through the exit wound, therefore causing the surgeon to strongly insist the leg be amputated.
Surgery was successful & Roxy is showing strength that only I wish I possessed. With Rehabilitation & weight management all the surgeons have assured me she will be able to still live a great happu life with me. It's just so hard dealing with everything from emotions, to furious angry to wanting to just curl up in a ball and cry, cry, cry. But Roxy is still with us today & I feel so, so blessed.
I am not one to ever ask for things from others I know, let alone complete strangers. But the surgery costs, ICU  stay & rehabiltation is going to cost a lot. As of today, Monday, January 2, 2017 Roxy's medical bills has totaled to $9,577.55. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am currently looking for a new home for the two of us & the hospital has graciously offered to keep Roxy in house until I find a new home. I am too traumatized to live back at the house where this horiffic incident took place. So I am straight-up asking, pleding for help with Roxy's medical bills, both current & in the immediate future, as well as aid to cover some moving costs I will encounter. I must find a new home for us immediately.  Roxy is loved by every single person she has encountered in her 21 months on this earth. Her Instagram, @theroxyrott has had love, prayers & good wishes pour in from people all over the world. I can honestly use any help as soon as humanly possible. If people have news outlets I want this story to be told. I want these savages caught. God bless & on behalf of both Roxy & myself, I thank everyone who wants to help. Please continue to keep us both in your thoughts and prayers. I am not as strong as I wish I was. Roxy is my rock, my world, my absolute everything.
