In January 2015 I will be travelling to South Africa to begin a Community Development Program I have been working on for nearly 12 months now. The not-for-profit organisation International Student Volunteers will be managing the project, but for now I am starting to fundraise for all the resources we will require.I will be working in disadvantaged areas conducting a program in Community and Social Development work. All money raised goes directly to International Student Volunteers and helps to pay for everything required for our project (i.e. resources for schools, child care, health clinics, community centres, community gardens).Although the trip is a while away, collecting donations and pledges now means we can budget for the trip and start organising what we will need!I have volunteered my time with a number of local not-for-profit organisations such as Telethon, the Chefs Long Table Lunch and the Disabled Surfers Association. We are so lucky to live where we do, and therefore I’m really looking forward to taking my time and energy overseas to help those who are living in underprivileged conditions. Please help me reach my fundraising goal- community support is so important and really does mean a hell of a lot to me!
