Please help fund The NEO’s first album in 9 years: FOTU
In February, The NEO worked with renowned engineer Paul Pilsneniks to record 12 brand new tracks with the biggest NEO band ever. The 11 musicians (including a 7 piece horn section) spent the stormy wet season here in Darwin and built a warehouse studio to catch the sound of the new songs. We are so proud of how it’s coming along. The initial costs were covered by shows we played in 2020, but we need your help to have the album professionally mixed and mastered.
With your contribution we can mix the songs and then send you the album when we finish the project later in 2021.
The working title is FOTU (Fear Of The Unknown) and it explores darkest fears and desires. It is, at times, deeply intimate or subversive and at other times celebratory and irreverent. Drawing from an enormous repertoire of shows such as Breaking the DUB Barrier, Funk V Reggae and Off The Rails Cabaret, the album revels in soul, funk, ska, dub, blues and roots. The album is a full-power, soul-fuel experience.

A naked millennium celebration in Darwin spawned an evolutionary new performance band with shows at the Woodford Folk Festival, East Coast Blues and Roots, The Edinburgh Fringe, The Adelaide Fringe, 2 Adelaide Fuse Festivals and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
From Arnhem Land to the Red Centre, the East coast to the Southern Mountains, The NEO have toured consistently since their beginning.
Collective consciousness generators, sound wave therapy and serotonin stimulators, The NEO captivate audiences in an immersive experience blurring the lines between concert, performance art and dance party.
