Love and Light for The Mitchell Family

Update on Megan:

While Megan has vastly improved over the last two months, her condition is far from perfect and the road to recovery is uncertain.

The stroke left Megan's perception askew and while she is getting physically closer to walking on her own, she still requires a great amount of assistance. In addition to her inability to walk, her left vocal cord remains paralyzed. She must rely on the assistance of a tracheotomy, which has been Megan's largest and most painful issue during her recovery.

With only 45 days of in-patient rehabilitation covered by the insurance, the family is left with some difficult and costly decisions. The insurance company is trying to place Megan at a Senior Care facility, where she will not receive the type of therapy required to further her progress. The family believes that the facility Megan is currently in will provide her with the proper care she needs in her road to recovery; however this will come at a large out of pocket expense for the family.

Throughout all of this, Tom has remained a pillar of the famil and has been doing all he can to care for the children and Megan. As you can imagine, this ordeal is taking it's toll and in between supporting the family, working full-time, and fighting with insurance companies, his faith is wearing thin.

If you haven't already, please consider supporting Megan and Tom. If you have already donated, please share their story with everyone you can. Let's all continue to shed our love and light on the Mitchell family in their time of need.

Our beautiful and loving friend, Megan, suddenly became ill and was rushed to the hospital where it was determined she suffered a stroke.  Sadly, at 30, she remains in critical condition. Unfortunately, we are unsure what the future holds in her journey to recovery, but Megan has been making progress every day and her cognition is with her and sharp as ever.

This tragedy happened only 12 days after giving birth to her daughter, Harper. Megan and her husband, Tom, also have 2 year old son, Graham.  It will be a long road ahead for everyone in their family, especially Megan and Tom.  Since they are both out of work for an undetermined amount of time, our support could not be more critical.

For those of you who know the Mitchell family, you know the love and light they have brought to our lives and the world around them.  Your support will ensure that their light continues to shine.  For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting the Mitchell's, we appreciate any thoughts, prayers, love, and support that you can send this young family's way.
