This is where the McCrossen family's story began with The Gladney Center for Adoption. They went through an independent adoption and brought home a sweet baby boy from the hospital. After 6 weeks, the birth mother decided she wanted to parent the baby, and because she had not relinquished her rights, The McCrossens had to hand over their precious new son. You can imagine how traumatizing this was for the entire family. They deeply grieved this loss, as they loved him so much.
Now, they must start over. The average price for a domestic adoption in the United States is around 40K. Because the previous arrangement was an independent adoption, they lost all of their money and must begin again.
In the Gladney program they are accepted in now ,the money goes towards a finalized adoption, so there is no danger in loosing funding. However, the deadline to have this completed is March.
