Help fund THE MAKING OF SOUTH BEACH film

Donation protected

We need to raise money for the editing and production costs involved with making of this documentary film.

This documentary was shot and edited over a two year period with interviews from some of the players who were there and saw the magic that blossomed into the tourist magnet that is now called South Beach. The name "Sobe" was coined by Dona Zemo when she opened the first cafe on Ocean Drive in the Lesley Hotel called "Sobe Cafe" in the early 80"²s. Club Nu would later sponsor media junkets where New Yorkers like Michael Musto, Patrick McMullan and others were flown down to see for themselves the transformation from an elderly retirement village into a celebrity hot spot.

There were modeling shoots on almost every corner. Playboys from around the world flocked to the beautiful beaches, dined in the best restaurants and danced at the hottest nightclubs.

Miami Vice depicted what was actually going on in the streets of Miami Beach at the time. The crime wave of the 80"²s and 90"²s was in full effect and the nightlife was cooking. The beaches are full of beautiful people and the city is full of international flair.

Before you plan your next vacation to Miami, see how it got to where it's is today!
