Local Pulse Public Space

United with our multi cultural allies, we are tackling the affects of urban sprawl in our communities.  Local Pulse promotes grass roots events and the efforts of our neighbors. This brings diverse people together through common interests, and allows true community to flourish. We host and celebrate our unique heritages  and music to preserve and enrich the culture overall. In this theme we also run children's outdoor programming as an investment toward a more healthy future. Whenever we host events directly, they are as low/no waste as possible in an effort to reach the public on how to better sustain.  We are a melting pot culture that is ready to be stirred, and quality of life is what we create together. This type of stirring is coming to every area experiencing population growth. We choose to keep it real and local and pulsing.
Charleston SC is growing rapidly in all aspects. Development concerns include affordable housing, supporting our niches of culture, and public access to land and water. Johns Island is in the heart of the rural & Gullah culture, has a rich farming and Hyspanic heritage, and is a community that loves it's natural ground. It's a place where everyone use to walk to the creek, but now has no public access to water because it's all become privately owned. We are under contract to purchase over 25 acres of land that will provide public access to fresh water in the heart of the island. Located in the center of the business district, we will build a community center to expand the children's nature programing and create true wealth through Community, Heritage, Nature, Music and Health.
We are thoroughly prepared in every aspect of the planning and preparation stages. There is an amazing team of committed professionals who are friends of the Local Pulse because this project speaks to them and they are investing in it. Today, we are calling out to our culture to invest in itself and help us maintain so that we can sustain. We need to raise $20,000.
