The John Banks Fund

Donation protected
Hello all,

I have started this fund in memory of my dearest friend John Banks aka Red Dawg aka Uxbridge Trash. Who took his life last year.

One in four people experience mental health issues in any given year. That means that someone you know has suffered from or is suffering from mental health issues. In the past I've been effected by my own mental health issues that have taken me years to get the courage to seek help.

Anyone who has suffered from mental health issues will know how hard it is and how difficult it is to talk to someone. Charities like Mind and The Samaritans have been helping people in need for years. However the government has made cuts by millions of pounds to the mental health sector of the NHS. What does that mean? Less people are going to be able to receive help and the treatment and services they need to get back on track.

In Johns memory I am throwing a benefit gig on Feb 14th at The Black Heart in Camden where all the money will be donated to Mind and The Samaritans.

All the bands are announced at the end of the week and I would like to invite you all.

Red Dawg (john) was a big part of the London music scene so it's fitting to have a music night dedicated to him. It's a chance for us all to share memories of him and also for information about the Charity Mind and The Samaritans.

It's vital that places like Mind & The Samaritans stay open to help the people most in need. I don't think I would be alive today if it wasn't for charities like Mind and The Samaritans. So I need to call upon some of you for your help, first of all I need to all to come down show your support and donate. There will be super bands, DJs and fun. We will have a party red dawg style.

I was asked to set up an online go fund me account so people who can not attend will be able to donate.

Every little helps, the truth is there is a lack of funding for charities like Mind and The Samaritans who are able to help people through depression and mental illnesses.

I need you all to share this and spread this around. Most of all I need you all to be aware of people around you who may need your help, or if you need help for any mental issues to try and get the courage to seek help.

Thank you, Lianna Lee Davies
