<div>In accordance with our Special Activity Permit from Grandfather Mountain State Park, we are allowed to have ten students per school group.  Based on average expenses over an eight year period, the average cost per student is $450 for the four week course.  This includes the cost of professional hike leaders, backpacks, insurance, socks, raincoats, Grandfather Mountain entrance fees, Awards Dinners, high-quality hiking boots, and other similar expenses.  So, a full school group of ten students costs $4,500.

<div>We are seeking to raise $9,000 between now and the end of the year.   If this amount is raised, it will allow us to serve two additional schools that we have not previously served, and would be a very welcome boost to our program, with brand new opportunities this coming Spring.
