The Hug Beacon

Fellow Burners... a eulogy.

It was known by many names: the Pink Swing, the Pink Beacon, or often simply The Pink Heart. It guided many a lost burner toward water, warmth, and cuddles on cold nights and vegan ice cream and shade on hot days. Even after the Man is consumed, the Pink Heart provided orientation in a disorientating place.

That's why today is a sad day. The Pink Heart Swing (pictured above) will not be returning to the playa this year. This is unfortunate news for Pink Heart as we see oureslves as a lighthouse for body and soul. For years, this beacon has stood proudly and lovingly, but no more. There is one silver-lining to this tale: the artists who owned the original Pink Heart Swing have donated it to a children's hospital, so it will continue to bring joy to others off-playa.

Now, this isn't just eulogy. Rather, this is a call-to-action. This is a chance... for re-birth. We at Pink Heart have been hard at work creating the plans for a NEW beacon that will be visible across the playa. 

We call it: The Hug Beacon

One sticking point to these new plans, however, is funds. We're going to need to fundraise at least $10,000 in order to get this project off the ground and out to the Burn this year. That's why we're turning to you, our loved ones and fellow burners, and asking for your help in making this dream into a reality. Whether you can donate $5, $50, or $5,000, every donation is extremely appreciated.
