A Hike for The H.O.B.!

Well, as many of you know, I have begun the process of establishing Brisbane's first completely free homeless shelter, The Heart of Brisbane Rescue Mission, or The H.O.B. It's been a slow process so far, but definitely an exciting one! 

Some of the newest developments have been creating the official website, registering for an Australian Business Number and also registering our name to make The Heart of Brisbane Rescue Mission officially and legally ours! 

The notepad is filling with ideas and there are many upcoming things that I am SO excited about!! 

One of those things is an awareness raiser. Though there will be several of these, I have a vision of a big awareness raiser, sort of an "official launch" I suppose you could say, in which a free-to-the-public event is hosted complete with jumping castle, music and snags! It's going to be great!

So if you're wondering what exactly your donated money will go towards, these will be some of the things: Food for the event, informational brochures, flyers, and bus hire as well as fuel to transport some of my homeless friends to and from the event. Any monies left over will be stored in our account to further establish The H.O.B.!  

But here's the thing... I thought rather than just ask you to donate to this cause, that'd I'd actually do something for it. So what I am asking for, rather than a straight up donation is that you sponsor my walk.

On March 23rd I will be trekking from O'Reilley to Binna Burra, a wonderful stretch of wilderness through the Gold Coast Hinterland, which boasts a total of 23 km! Thats over half a marathon!!! 

So if you could  pick an amount, whether it is 1$, or 10$ and apply that to a per km donation. For example, if you'd like to donate 1$ per km, then that's only 23 bucks, but it carries an impact that will echo for eternity as lives are changed and hearts are healed through the efforts of everyone involved with The H.O.B.!

I've set a goal of 2,000$, but if that amount is broken by even 1 dollar I pledge to turn right around when I reach Binna Burra and do the return trip to O'Reilley! That's a mammoth marathon of a  hike... 46 km!!

So let's get together and support some people that really need nothing more than genuine love and friendship!
