IVF Support

Hi! We’re Allison and Ryan, and we’re fundraising for IVF fertility treatment. 

After years of not being able to conceive, we talked with our doctors, ran all the tests we could, and were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. We were left discouraged with no answers. We began to invite our closest friends and family to start praying with us, but we didn’t share much openly at the time. At the start of 2021, we were recommended by our doctor to go through IUI, so we went through three unsuccessful rounds of treatment in the beginning of 2022. After our third IUI was unsuccessful, our doctor recommended the only next step, medically, was IVF. IVF is the most expensive and last option for fertility treatments, with an increased, but not guaranteed, rate of success. Honestly, this news was hard to hear. The cost of IVF is out of our current, foreseeable future on our own. 

We had been praying and considering every option for months, but as we approached our five-year wedding anniversary, we invited people to take the month of September to intentionally pray with us and seek God’s next step for our family, whatever it might be. We were able to meet with a few of them, receive texts of encouragement, and listen to what God was saying. A week or so into November, I (Ryan) told the Lord I don’t want to do any fertility treatments or anything; I just want to have a baby with Allison, and I felt like He responded with, “I hear you, but do you trust Me? I want you both to go through IVF treatment and all that comes with it (fundraising, sharing with more people, and inviting them into the journey) with no guarantee of a baby.” So, I came to Allison, shared with her what I’d heard, and found out that the Lord had spoken the same thing to her. It was such a good moment of unity with each other and with Jesus. We are so grateful for the people who took the time to pursue Him with us and lean into listening to His voice. 

So, with all of that said, this is probably one of the hardest things we’ve ever written or shared, and, while we have invited some friends and family into the journey over the past few years, there’s still some fear or worry as we get this GoFundMe page ready. But, we believe with our whole hearts, after processing through every option, that this is the next step we are being invited to take. 

We’re fundraising for the cost of one full cycle of IVF as well as two transfers. We are starting off with $2,100 from our own savings, and hope to meet a goal of $18,000. 

 

We are so grateful for everyone who is prayerfully considering supporting us financially in this next step, but most of all, we need your prayers. We know He is good. We know He is with us. We know there is hope for a miracle. And we are so grateful to everyone who is walking with us on this journey. Thank you for reading and sharing our story with an open heart.
