The Granddaddy is a small independently-owned cafe bootstrapped by life-long locals with windows to the world of a diverse and eclectic neighborhood rich in history. This unique intersection of Chinatown and The Lower East Side has deep roots in the story of immigration in New York City in an unlikely union of cultures, of food, of passions and people. We wanted to create a hub and home for our community and visitors alike to gather and experience our beloved neighborhoods together, while introducing them to a taste of our favorite local offerings.

Even if you cannot help financially, please consider adding a voice in support of a relief and stimulus plan for the food and beverage industry and its millions of staff that are all now in crisis by calling your Representative and Senators. You can reach them through the Capitol switchboard at [phone redacted]. Support the small businesses that are an essential part of what you love about your unique city.
The Granddaddy family is incredibly grateful for your support during this challenging moment for the service industry. We miss you all and are looking forward to seeing you again when we reopen. Until then, we wish you, your family and friends well—in good health and spirits.
