WHAT IS OUR MISSION?

We are building a mobile food delivery service focusing on delivering food on the streets at night when all the LA City & LA County food banks & homeless shelters close. We will travel across LA feeding the homeless wherever we can. We are a 100% non-profit dedicated to feeding our community. #thegoodkarmala #feedthehomeless #losangeles



WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

Here are the facts:

-In LA County, there are an estimated 7,000 people living near freeways, alleys, and along sidewalks. This includes seniors with underlying health conditions and the combination of large-scale housing instability, rising rents, stagnant wages, and the COVID-19 pandemic has created a new class of homeless that defies the stereotypes.

-Fear over this pandemic has given birth to a crippling “hoarding culture”. The lack of available food supplies diminishes a vital reservoir that local pantries and shelters have traditionally relied upon for L.A.’s homeless.

Thousands of beds run by the biggest homeless agencies in Los Angeles go empty at night due to lacking safety and sanitation standards. This means that the homeless in LA are prioritizing safety and personal security on the streets every night over a meal in a shelter. Our food delivery service will be focusing on delivering food on the streets at night when all the LA City & LA County food banks & homeless shelters are closed.


HOW CAN YOU HELP?

The first step was to purchase a food truck. Now we need your help to outfit it with the necessary repairs and get The Good Karma LA on the road to support our people. Here are a few things on the list:

- New Tires.
- New Engine.
- Rebuilt Transmission.
- New Electrical Wires.
- Bins to store food & water.
- Racks to store bins in our distribution truck.
- Carts to pull food & water.
- Pallets of water.
- Pallets of chips.
- Ice (weekly)

NEEDED: 
- Paint Job
- Kitchen Upgrade
