SAVE THE FORGOTTEN KIDS FUND

Donation protected

Hi there. My Family and I are fundraising for some very special kids. They are the children of Cite Soleil in Haiti.  My husband met them when traveling to Haiti to help install  solar panels on some of the schools, orphanges, and hospitals. They immediately captured his heart and hopefully will yours as well.

As the team arrived at the school in Cite Soleil,  JP was completely shocked at the extreme poverty in the entire area. It looked as if the earthquake of 2010 has just occured yesterday. Children were wondering the streets. Kids were wading through sewage filled ditches with pigs. When he heard children in the worst places of Cite Soleil had such little food that some were making mud cakes and eating them to make their tummies stop cramping. His heart sank. How could these innocent souls be left forgotten, to fend for themselves?

There is hope, though. There is a school there, Institution Mixte Union des Apôtres, that has recently been built to educate the children, and also feed them 2 meals a day. There is hope because some people like us realized that something must be done.

Because they have minimal assistance from the government,  they have to fundraise each year for the money they need to operate. They are also looking to move from a 9 month school calendar to a year round  schedule which would allow their children to get healthier faster. Once we heard that they needed help with their efforts, we had to act.  Our family jumped in with both feet.

This is where you come in. (We need all the help that we can get since we are not professional relief workers or fundraisers. no preasure...)  If we pool our money together we can make a difference now. We can't let another month go by without doing everything we can to help these children. We hope you feel the same.  See, most of the  families in Cite Soleil do not have enough money to buy food for the whole family. Families are broken up and kids are sent to orphanges. When you help our family take on this cause you are helping families stay together. You are breaking the cycle of poverty in a very real and profound way.

Step 1. Host a social fueled fundraiser that can reach people all over the country (and the world).

Step 2. Spread it to our friends and families.

Step 3. Let it inspire others to see that a regular family from Regularville America can stop everything on a Saturday night and make change.

Step 4. Pool our resources with a few other families working on the same plan and use this as seed money to spread the word about the unfinished work in Haiti.

Step 5. Host a few events with some inspired musicians that will help get more attention and more donations for the children.

Step 6. Make the donation to the school and post it up online for all to see how they helped save lives right now across the world.

By donating to our fundraiser, you will be supporting kids like Woodley, who is in the first grade. He wants to be a soccor player and a coach. Or little kindergartener Ichnaïda. Now that she is attending classes, she is learning that she can be and do anything. Without having to  think about where her next meal is coming from, she has turned her sights to the mayor's job! She wants to learn until she can take over that job in 13 years no less. It's funny how when you give kids hope, they quickly become the dreamers of the next generation. It is our hope that the children we are helping to feed and educate this year will be just that.

Our goal is to feed and educate the kids for the entire year and start a sustainable growing and farming area that will allow them to learn how to raise chickens and small crops to feed their families. That cost is 300,000.

I know this school is all the way across the world from us, but when we stop and take time to care for them we are serving in a way that will change lives instantly. Since this school has started feeding and educating in the area, they have seen 100% of their kids catch up to other children of their age residing in goverment funded areas and have passed the same evaluations. That is remarkable.

Help our family end the cycle of poverty in a place where its own goverment has given up and forgotten them. God bless your family and these children in Haiti.
Thank you for helping.
