The fight for Angela's rare cancer

Donation protected

Hi friends and family,

Most of you might know or know of my wonderful, hard-working and friendly sister, Angela Papas.

Earlier this month, Angela was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer. Her initial medical tests in September revealed a positive reading of Lymphoma, which prompted her doctors to order a biopsy test.

The biopsy results came in positive for a rare liver disease called Cholangiocarcinoma or Bile Duct Cancer at Stage 4, making it terminal.

Those of you who know Angela will know that she works extremely hard and continuously pours her heart and soul into Louca’s Seafood and Disapora Kouzina. Not only is she a star worker and business-owner, she is also one of the most selfless people out there who will do anything and everything for her friends and family. Operating 2 businesses and somehow managing a social life, Angela has had her work cut out for her. However, with her recent diagnosis and treatment plan, she will need to focus on her battle with cancer. Unfortunately, this means she will be away from work indefinitely, impacting her financially as well as physically and emotionally.

Due to the cancer being in later stages, surgical intervention is not an option at this point, and given the rareness of this type of cancer, there are limited treatment options available in Australia.

Angela has recently completed her first and second rounds of chemotherapy and will have further treatments in the foreseeable future. In addition to this, with the help of medical experts, we have sought out a new clinical trial and an alternative therapy which is the first of its kind in Australia.

These treatments, in conjunction with drastic lifestyle changes, are not inexpensive. As you can imagine, Angela has already started to feel the impact to her current overheads, which is adding pressure on her already taxing situation.

Receiving assistance with her medical/living expenses would take a huge burden off her and allow her to focus on herself which is why I ask of you, all her friends and family, for any contributions to allow Angela some relief to battle her cancer.

Please feel free to share this page as you see fit, and any communication you might like to have with her can be done through reaching out to me as at this point, as Angela needs as much rest and downtime as she can have as possible.

On behalf of Angela, I thank you all sincerely for your help.
