Megan's Mold Illness Treatment

Diagnosis(es): Before I go into details, please continue to pray for us. We have quite a road ahead. Also, please share with your family and friends.  I will share a quick background for anyone that's not aware of what is going on. 3 years ago, in August of 2016, I got very sick. I started dropping weight rapidly (I lost over 30 lbs in a period of about 6 weeks), I started having horrible panic attacks to the point where I wanted to claw off my skin, I turned grey. We started investigating and trying to figure out what was wrong and someone suggested we check for mold. We scheduled the lab that does mold testing to come out and check our house. Mold was everywhere. It was growing underneath our entire house. It had gotten in the HVAC system and was circulating throughout the house. We had to leave everything. We lost the house and most of our belongings. 1 month later our 6 year old labradoodle dropped dead. The vet said his immune system was completely wiped out. I have been fighting for 3 years with one health problem after another. I have gone hypothyroid then hyperthyroid. I will suddenly go hypoglycemic. Test after test would come back negative. No diabetes. No hashimoto's. No graves disease. ER docs and endocrinologists have scratched their heads. Functional docs have worked with me on detox, repairing my brain and more. Nothing has any lasting impact. This year I started getting worse. By April I was having paralysis episodes. The episodes started out just lasting a few hours. They have become longer and more frequent. I now have to use a wheelchair frequently. Even on days I can walk, my legs will give out quickly and without warning. We decided we were tired of not getting answers and I was obviously getting worse with whatever this was. We went out of state to Envita Medical Center. They work extreme cases of cancer and people with neurological problems that can't find help elsewhere. We shared with our friends and family that we felt it was time to take this step but this is a place that is not covered by insurance. Just the trip to get testing was going to cost us around $10,000. God moved our wonderful friends to give and we raised this money in about 10 days. Envita ran more tests than I've ever had in my life. We came home and waited for a month for results. We just spoke with our doctor yesterday (10/31). He went over 50 pages of labs with us line by line- explaining each thing. Here is what they found: 1. Mold- There is some mold growing in my nasal passages but they found a lot in a mycotoxin test in my urine. The doctor explained that what mold does is takes down the immune system. (remember our labradoodle?) As an example he explained that when people need a transplant they have to take an immune suppressant so that their body won't reject the transplant. That immune suppressant is made from mold. 2. A large amount of staph infection deep in my nasal passages. They said this is common with biotoxin illness and it can be having an impact on me neurologically. 3. Because my immune system has been taken down, my body is over run with viruses, bacteria and yeast. These are attacking my central nervous system. 4. Mycotoxins are produced by mold. The mycotoxin that they found in large amounts in my urine is called Zearalenone. The dr explained that the numbers are very high and we have to take this very seriously. They will have to filter my blood and do iv therapies. I have not been exposed to mold in 3 years. This is what is left in my body from our home and it's doing significant damage. 5. Because of the mold I have a fungal infection in my gut. Because of the fungal infection in my gut, I can't digest foods well. Because of this I am malnourished and steadily dropping weight. The dr found a lot of what he called "secondary issues" on my labs that would probably straighten out if we could get me to absorb nutrients. 6. I also have high lead. We have no idea where I came into contact with that but we have to treat that as well. We will have to move to Arizona for treatment. The doctor says it should be about 6 weeks of treatment. Their goal is to get you back to 60% so you can come home and finish working with your medical team. They want to get you through the worst of it. Friends, first of all, I am asking for your prayers. We need them. We will all be moving out of state for a month and a half. Steve will not be able to work and will be taking care of me. If we don't get treatment, infections (fungal, viral and bacterial) will continue to take over and I will get worse. Secondly, I am asking you to share this.
