Our goal at Functional Fitness is to get strong. We hunt out weaknesses, and using a direct method, redevelop them into strengths. In the past we have done a lot with very little. In the future, I intend to maintain our minimalist approach in helping people to meet their own strength and fitness goals. That is why we need your help. We are currently limited by our resources. Functional Fitness will be moving to a new location and we are looking to purchase new equipment to help both our current and future members continue to reach their fitness goals.
My goal is to transform the space you see below into the next iteration of Functional Fitness. Functional Fitness is already great, but change is coming. We will build this gym to be better, faster, stronger!
This space will be the heavy lifting area. It will need a platform, a power rack and other support equipment. Additional equipment that will be included are gymnastics rings, a GHD, and an assortment of toys.
The small entrance will be changed over to a "lobby" like area with a bench, coat rack and possibly shelves or lockers for storing your personal items.
Note: The center wall with the door will be removed, transforming this area into a long hallway.
This little area will be converted into the "group class space." It will consist of six mini gyms, each containing its own bands, plyo box, suspension trainer, pull up bar, and an assortment of kettle bells and sand bags for training. I would also like for each station to have its own small fan.
Other changes will include:
-The current kettle bell classes will change to now include a combination of both sand bags and kettle bells.
- Functional Fitness classes and Total Body Toning classes will be absorbed into one class, allowing for more variety and individual attention.
-A new class, called "Dynosore Training" will be created. This will include "strong man/woman" work, including lifting and carrying odd objects (kegs, sand bags, atlas stones, etc.), heavy bar bell work, heavy dumb bell work, farmers walking. The class will be a hour and a half instead of the standard hour. I plan on holding this class every Tuesday and Thursday night at 6:30pm.
Equipment we need and hope to acquire:
-A GHD (Glute hamstring developer)
- Rubberized flooring (no link)
- A power rack. This power rack
-Reverse hyper extention
-Pull up bars (6)
-Plyo Boxes (6)
-Suspension trainers (6)
-Sand bags (8-10)
-Atlas stone shelf
-Rogue Buoy (3-4)
-Farmers walk handles
This is essentially a wish list. If we hit our goal, you can expect to see these things in the new space.
We will open the new space after New Years Eve, January 2, 2015. The barn space will sadly be gone. It would be great if all the funds were raised by December 20th in order to have time to ship and assemble all of the equipment so that the new classes can be up and running as soon as the gym opens.
Any Donation is greatly appreciated. For those that would like to invest a significant amount, there will be a "gift" as a result of your generous donation.
