The Beard Is Going For Good Reason

Hello ladies and gentlemen of this planet we call Earth,

My name is Kaillen Sinnathamby, I’m 20 years of age, I am Melbourne born and raised, currently work as a barber in West Footscray at Blunt Barbers. Being a barber I have grown and become quite attached to my facial hair, it has been about a year and two month of growth, stretching out to (15-20cm). Solid effort, but I think it’s time to let it go. But we shouldn’t just shave it off, let’s raise some money for my lovely mother to help her daily life.

I live with my 46 year old mother Janine Russell and elder sister Sharamalee Sinnathamby.
Since the 3rd of February 1994, mum and dad (Kumar Sinnathamby), have been taking care of and supporting an angel, my sister.
Since the day Sharamalee came into this world she has not been able to take care of herself, been diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome (AS).
AS is a genetic disorder that generally affects the nervous system, making their independent life quite difficult. Symptoms include severe itellectuall and developement disability, balance and movement problems, speech difficulties, seizures and sleep problems.
With all these characteristics, it does not make mums days goes by smooth.
Having to support Sharamalee each time she moves her from bed to her wheelchair, changing her clothes, getting her up a step and the one that is the biggest stretch is lifting her out of the wheelchair and up into the van. Sharamalee isn’t the weight of your average angel which puts some stress on mums back. Sharamalee doesn’t always cooperate initially and in a rush mum has to lift her without Sharamalee’s help. After lifting her into her seat, mum then needs to lift the wheelchair into the back of the van, there is no ramp so keeping the chair assembled, mum on her own has to lift the wheelchair, and this it is not the lightest chair going around. Reason for having the van is so the wheelchair does not need to be disassembled.
Obviously I wish I could be there to support my mum with moving Sharamalee around as she is not too heavy for me to lift, however I work 6 days a week and can’t be there at all times mum has to move her.
Mums been doing this for the past 24 years, and needs easier mobility for my sister, this is where you guys can help.

There is part funding available for modifications through SWEP & full funding through NDIS if accepted. In both cases you have to supply the vehicle either brand new or 2nd hand with age & kilometres limited.

Please help by donating towards a new vehicle, all funds raised will go towards getting a new special needs vehicle for my mum.
This will help mum as she will not need to hurt her back by lifting my Sharamalee into the car anymore as she’ll have a lift/hoist that will automatically lift my sister into the vehicle.

I do not yet have a set target value or date for the beard to be shaved. But if I am going for a new car let’s start at $10,000 and see how we go.

LETS DO IT GUYS!!!
