On the afternoon of August 10, 2018, our dear friend Rosiland Winn came home to the shock of her 86 year old mother having been brutally attacked and left in a pool of blood.  While her family and friends are praying for a miracle, Mrs. Lillian Winn now resides in palliative care, and is not medically expected to recover from the traumatic brain injuries she sustained.  She was attacked during a senseless home invasion from which the perpetrator left with only a roll of coins, a cell phone and other items that certainly did not equal to the value of this small, precious soul.

Mama Winn had been, surprisingly, coping with losing her oldest daughter to cancer less than three years ago and driving herself to dialysis three times a week.  Her daughter Rosiland moved home to Birmingham from Chicago, in 2016 to help care for her mother through those health issues and was devastated to find her in such a battered state.  And, though she’s not able to return to the home they shared, she is more concerned with putting together reward money, hoping to inspire someone to come forward with information that will lead to catching the one responsible for such a horrendous crime.

Even with the outpouring of prayers and support from her closest friends, our hearts break for this family, whose world has been turned upside down. The growing cost of medical expenses, and sadly now funeral and burial expenses for Rosiland and her family, in addition to other expenses that have resulted from this tragedy are overwhelming, to say the least.

We’re asking for your help, for our friend, for her mother, and her family.  Mrs. Winn was a beautiful woman, loved by so many, and we want to honor that giving nature and generous spirit.
