The Wing Back Bay Employee Relief Fund

Due to COVID-19, The Wing Back Bay has had to close its doors, and our entire staff barring our General Manager has been laid off as of today. This includes our space staff, baristas, front desk, clean team, back of house, events team, operations lead, and community manager and is around 30 people.
We are aware that The Wing is formally circulating their own relief fund, but we wanted to provide an opportunity for folks to donate relief directly into the pockets of Back Bay employees.
Our staff is queer and people of color and parents and immigrants and women and trans folks and artists and college students and poor and kind and generous and many of these things at the same time. Many of us are part of the most vulnerable groups impacted by capitalism in general, but especially under COVID. We were all drawn together by a common desire for community and have worked tirelessly for the past nine months to create a safe and welcoming space for our members and guests.
At the moment, it is currently unclear whether or not The Wing will reopen its doors, and our staff, like many others, is facing an incredibly unsure future. We have spent months dedicating our work to taking care of others, and now we’re asking for the kindness and generosity of those same people. If we have ever made you a latte or greeted you with a smile or set up your membership card or cleaned up a spill or cleared dishes from your table or snuck you onto the list at an event, or if you’ve ever been a guest, or if you just want to support a group of compassionate and hardworking people, please consider donating.
We understand that many others are facing financial insecurity right now, and no donation is too small. And if you’re not able to donate, please consider sharing this page with your networks. We would love to share it with more of our space’s members, but we’re all currently locked out of our Wing accounts. Every bit of help matters, and we appreciate it.
