The Watsons: A Family Displaced and Surviving
Donation protected
This is the for the benefit of a loving and loved family, shipped away from their home, leaving a flooded house behind; leaving everything they've worked for with their 2 children, cat and dog. The storm Eta devastated parts of the Bay Area, including Mark and Vanessa's Shore Acres home. Insurance has deemed the dwelling unlivable, causing a chain reaction of issues to be handled.
There are insurance calls, the cleaning, figuring out bills, taking care of a 3 year old and a 4 year old, finding Mark a place to work in a house with 4 adult, 2 toddlers, 2 dogs, and a cat, and clearing out their home of 6 years, deciding what to keep and what to let go. The family is temporarily staying with Vanessa's parents whose home was also damaged in the storm.
Re-construction of the home is in the beginning stages now, and has been estimated to take at least a few months.. In that time, the Watsons are without a permanent roof over their heads, no where to school their children, grieving the loss of their home. The family is in need of funds for a place to live permanently, until construction is done, they need help with paying bills, including the mortgage on the very house destroyed. Replacing irreplaceable items, like a favorite blanket or book is impossible, but there are essentials they will need to replace.
Knowing Vanessa for 15 years has been a blessing in my life and now knowing her wonderful husband and beautiful children adds another level to the blessings. The Watsons have always been so generous, caring and helpful; now is the time I, WE, have an opportunity to help them. Whatever you are able to give can help the Watsons navigate through this difficult time.
