The Ville Church Relief from Irma

On September 10th, in the dark of night, Hurricane Irma roared through Jacksonville, FL. Although we woke up to power outages and fallen trees, the worst had yet to come. As Irma headed north, it left in it's wake the worst flooding Jacksonville has seen in over a century. Large parts of downtown were underwater.
Like most of downtown, Hurricane Irma flooded The Ville Church. The inside of our building received 10 to 18 inches of water damage. We responded quickly by tossing out permanently damaged items, ripping drywall/insulation/carpet out and bleaching/cleaning everything else according to the FEMA guidelines.
With the gracious helping hands of other local churches, we were able to deep clean and piece together our building enough to continue worshipping on Sundays. For that, we are extremely grateful.
Due to the nature of a "once in a century" flood, many people and businesses affected have no flood insurance. The Ville Church falls into this catagory. This is why we are asking for your help.
We are a small, diverse church made up of an eclectic group of believers. Due to the nature of our mission and member make up, our budget is extremely tight. When we add up our losses, from couches to TVs, childrens books to pastoral books, we took a pretty substantial hit. Though we have been able to continue worshipping, we are going into October facing significant financial burden as we begin replacing damaged property to allow us to fully use our facilities, including completely rebuilding our children's ministry.
We have estimated we lost $13,500 worth of property. We are asking our church, the universal church, believers near and far, and all good samaritans for your financial help.
Anything you give will go towards our Irma Relief fund. Our kids ministry is down indefinitely and awaiting new supplies to get back up and running again. Your gift will be used to restore this ministry and continue the work God has started at The Ville Church. Thank you for your consideration.
