Fetch & Releash is on a mission to bring warmth and comfort to homeless dogs. As you complete your holiday gift shopping this year, we’re asking you to consider partnering with us to help make the wishes of shelter dogs come true.
Many of the dogs that come through our doors are pulled from high kill shelters in Texas and Tennessee. While we work to find them loving forever families in Canada, they are placed in a private, outdoor shelter in the care of our trusted rescue partners. While conditions are not great, this shelter is often the difference between life and death.
While the dogs await their Freedom Ride to Canada, they are just as deserving of the basic necessities of life – shelter, food and enrichment – as our own spoiled pups.
Unfortunately many of the dogs live outdoors and lack insulted shelters. In the winter time, the average temperature in Tennessee is around the freezing mark. In the summer it’s a whopping 31 degrees Celsius. There is no relief from the heat, the cold, the rain, the wind…There are no warm and cozy beds and no toys to occupy their long days.
We’ve set out to raise $10,000 in 12 days in an effort to provide warm, insulated shelters, hay for their beds and enriching toys.
How can you help us meet our goal?
· In lieu of store-bought holiday presents, make a donation in the name of your friends, family, boss, coworkers and kids’ teachers! They are sure to be moved by this thoughtful gesture.
· Go without presents and ask anyone who would normally buy you a gift to make a donation instead.
· Host a holiday party! In lieu of host/hostess gifts, ask your guests to bring a small cash donation.
· Skip the office Secret Santa this year and pool your money together to sponsor a dog!
· We know our lucky Fetch alumni are spoiled year round and can expect to wake up to toys and treats from Santa Paws. This year, ask Santa Paws to skip your house and make a donation to our fundraiser instead!
Everydonation counts, big or small. Please share and ask family, friends or coworkers to join you in helping to give the gift of warmth, happiness and hope to a deserving dog in need.
