The Toucans Homeschooling Fundraiser

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared Sars-CoV-2 to be a worldwide pandemic. Shortly thereafter, schools across the world began to transition to virtual learning and the rules and dynamics of contemporary education that everyone understood to be true vanished overnight. Trying as hard as they could, my three (at the time, ages 6, 10, and 13) children, could not conform to the new model of learning and sitting at a computer screen for multiple hours a day negatively effected their mood and zest for learning.
Over the summer, I watched the virus thrive in our community. I wondered and worried about the upcoming school year and if it would again be virtual and have a similar negative outcomes. On top of the past experience of virtual learning, my youngest was to start kindergarten this year and I was heartbroken that he wouldn't have the same experience his older siblings had when they entered kindergarten. To compound everything, our family has several health issues that could make COVID-19 serious, possibly lethal.
Icouldn't, in good conscience, send my kids to school and endanger them, our family or friends, their teachers, and any of the support staff. I also knew that if they were to opt-in to the virtual-only model that our school system offered, their education would not be sufficient and their passion for learning would be blunted because it was no longer enjoyable. I felt alone but I also knew that I had to be the one that had to keep their passion alive.
We decided to homeschool. In the first week we designed our mascot and came up with our pledge:

Trustworthiness with all of,
Our family & friends,
Utter inclusion to everyone regardless of their journey,
Candid respect for,
All of God's creatures and,
Neverending effort to improve upon myself.*
It's not cheap, as many teachers already know, to buy supplies, purchases need materials for experiments and projects, fees for field trips, and so on. According to The Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) estimates that the average parent spends about $300 to $600 per year, per child, on homeschooling curriculum, games, and books. Even the little stuff like pencils and crayons add up quick!
We're asking for your support. We need as much help as possible. That's why we're also working on launching a t-shirt and merchandise fundraising campaign and will link it here when it's up and running. All profits from the campaign will be donated to this account. Also, we wanted to include a list of wants/needs of supplies and it can be found below.
If you would like to contribute supplies directly, please message us for further details. We all want to say thank you in advance for any and all support! It means a lot and you are contributing directly to the education and advancement to young minds that will change the future!
