The Stem Cell journey for my Mom

Donation protected
For those of you who know my mom, know that she suffers from severe autoimmune disorders, where her body is essentially attacking itself. She has been dealing with this for about 13 years and during the past 5 years it has progressively gotten worse. To manage these she is currently taking 21 pills a day and sees 9 different doctors to keep things in check. Other treatments that she has tried are epidurals and cortisone shots, but doing 8+ injections a year causes significant bone loss and would create other issues with the long term use of this treatment.

Dysautonomia- refers to a disorder of autonomic nervous system (ANS) function that generally involves failure of the sympathetic or parasympathetic components of the ANS.

Hashimoto's-  a condition in which your immune system attacks your thyroid.

hEDS (hyper mobility Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) - connective tissue disorder that is caused by defects in a protein called collagen.

Systemic Lupus Erythematous- A compromised immune system that attacks the body because it confuses it for something foreign.

POTS (Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome)- When your brain and your heart do not communicate and causes an increased heart rate and drop in blood pressure.

Selective IgA Deficiency- Creates a vulnerable immune system and makes it prone to infections.

The IV Stem Cell therapy is roughly $8,500, and that does not include supplements. There will be two treatments for this therapy. Before the therapy begins, there will be a period of 6 weeks where she cannot take the majority of her medications so that her body will accept the Stem Cells. After the treatment, there may be a need for medical leave and she will not be able to be around people so that her immune system is not compromised. The Stem Cells grow and multiply for 90 days after the therapy starts. Roughly 6 months after the first treatment, we will start the second.

I made the goal $20,000 because on top of the therapy costs, there are supplements that my mom has to take. Insurance is also not covering any part of the cost. My mom has already used the majority of the $2,600 of her flexible spending card from work that was issued in July to cover co-pays and medications. I also would like to be able to cover the GoFundMe Fees that come with putting this up.

Any donations would be appreciated but we know not everyone has the ability to do so. Prayers would be appreciated as well as any assistance during the therapy as far as meals, or help with the kids would also be appreciated. Please reach out to myself, Hannah, or my stepdad, Robert, for any questions.
