Who we are

We're the Seraphim and Cherubim Chorus, a Toronto-based not-for-profit choir. Our mission is “to connect and move people through music to enrich our community.”  Historically we've accomplished this by performing bi-annual concerts and raising money for local charities. With everything going on in the world in 2020, we're seriously missing that sense of community and belonging, but we're going to need to get creative on how we're asking for your help to accomplish it!

Why we are fundraising

Our intrepid artistic director Dr. Richard Foty explains it best. Click here to watch the video.

We are currently celebrating our 10th year, and we couldn't have gotten this far without community support.  So a special thank you to those who've bought tickets to our concerts or supported us in other ways in the past. This year has obviously been difficult for everyone, which means it is even more important to show our love for our community somehow! In place of a Christmas concert, we're creating an album of some of our best performances, as well as some newly recorded songs! The album is entitled "Christmas on Record."

This album is a Christmas journey told in typical S&C fashion that takes our community on a journey of hope, joy, struggle, perseverance, and togetherness. It is a retrospective of our recordings over the last decade (remixed and remastered) and 3 newly recorded songs recorded remotely in each of our choristers' homes then mixed professionally. In many ways, this album has brought us together so much more than a single concert ever could. It has taken months of dedication and a monumental effort from choristers, musicians, engineers and our community to bring it all together.
After months of preparation, our album is finally available to purchase on CD and digital download through our website here

Where your money will go

As you can imagine, there are quite a few costs associated with this recording, including but not limited to: musicians (not the choristers), studio time, production team, musical licensing and distribution.

All this takes a lot of effort, time, and money. Instead of supporting us through our concerts this year, and if your means allow, we're asking you to please support us in this project and help us make Christmas a little more special during a year when we all need it most. Our goal is to raise $15,000 by the end of the holiday season.

Your donation will go towards the costs of this project and help us continue to connect with our community. We really wanted to make sure we continue to move people through music during these trying times, and your donation will help us celebrate together, even though we'll be physically apart.  Everyone could use some extra joy this Christmas, so let's make this album together!  We would be so grateful as a choir to be able to see this come to fruition, especially knowing the community we serve was gracious enough to reach out and pull us through to the finish.

If you prefer to write a check, please make it payable to “The Seraphim & Cherubim Chorus” to the following address:

Many Thanks,
The Seraphim & Cherubim Chorus
