The Secret Story Draw wants positively transform the children's media industry by offering paid internships to Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic Illustrators and Animators.
We're partnering with some of the brightest and best studios in the children's media sector from TV & Games to establish lasting opportunities for talented creatives of colour.
What’s it all about?
The Secret Story Draw aims to find people of colour with raw and exceptional talent in animation or illustration, and partner them via our website with world-class writers from children’s books and television.
The unique way the collaboration works will result in a creative alchemy that will showcase the talent we already know is out there and set people on a path to a lasting career.
The campaign not only provides a pathway into the children's media industry, but we hope signposts this brilliant industry as a place full of opportunity to work, grow and thrive.
Opportunities
At the heart of this campaign are paid internships, mentoring, and money can't by creative workshops led by some of the best creative minds working in children's media today.
Your support of the Secret Story Draw will help us to create an initiative that will have a lasting impact, and we can repeat year in year out providing a pipeline of opportunity to surface new and existing Black, Asian & Minority ethnic creative talent to come and thrive in the children's media industry.
Our target is £100,000
Your money will help to subsidise the internships by providing money for travel and subsistence, as well contributing to mentor training.
Your money will also blow up this campaign. We need to ensure we reach as many talented people as we can. Helping us to pay for community manager, administrative costs, and building our resources and content to support our goals and aims.
The campaign starts in February 2021, and will be running right up until the Summer of 2021 - Our aim is then to start again and repeat the success of the first year.
