The Schoonovers

Donation protected
On Saturday, March 10th, George and Marge Schoonover were in a terrible car accident. A jeep crossed over the center line, severely injuring Marge and George.

Both Marge’s legs were broken beneath the knees, as well as one of her feet. George’s ankle was shattered. They were taken to separate hospitals, roughly an hour away from each other, to meet both their needs adequately. They both required surgery immediately, Marge to stretch the muscles of her legs to prepare for upcoming surgeries and George to set the bones in his ankle into the correct locations. On Monday the 12th, they went under again. Marge’s legs were operated on, preparing her for a long journey of roughly 12 weeks in a wheelchair, her foot is to be operated on at a later date. George’s surgery on his ankle went well and with luck, he will be released from the hospital soon.

With both George and Marge injured, several things are going to have to happen. Their house, a raised ranch, will need to be made handicap accessible. This will require alterations to the home, including ramps that will need to be constructed to allow them to enter the house. Marge will require care for some time that George being injured himself, will not be able to provide. We are hopeful that she will be able to come home to Wisconsin and reside in a rehab facility near to her home and children.

Neither George nor Marge will be able to work for some time as George’s job requires him to have full range of motion and drive long distances and Marge, as an Executive assistant will be unable to commute to work anytime in the near future. With no income, things will be tight. Although they have a fair amount set aside for emergencies, the expenses that come with everything that will need to be done will require additional money that is not readily available.

With this information, we ask for your prayers and perhaps any donation you might be able to make making this rough time a little easier. Thank you for reading and thank you for your healing thoughts.
