Many of you are aware of what happend to the Sanchez family (Chico, Claudia, Gabi, Pillin & Chacha) this past Sunday the 10th, when a fire started in the basement laundry room and quickly spread to almost the entire floor. It was close to 2am and everyone was fast asleep.
It's a horrible feeling to wake up to the smell of smoke, and have to franticly escape the walls of your own home, but that's exactly what Gabi did, when she miraculously escaped the basement & was able to go up two levels to wake her family members & escape the house. Gabi's mom, Claudia was able to return to the house in time to pull out Chacha, their 2-year old Goldendoodle but, sadly, Gabi's fluffy companion of 13 years, Pillin (white Bijon Frise), was lost in the basement & was later found by Firefighters lifeless due to smoke inhalation.
The Firefighters were on scene for 3 hours trying to combat the fire, and although they were able to pacify it, the damage to the basement, and the rest of the house is substantial; clothes, furniture, electronics and personal belongings all are either burned or unsalvageable at this moment in time. Furthermore, the family has limited financial support provided by their landowner as a result of not having renter's insurance.
We believe that God's sovereignty is eternal and perfect, and that nothing happens without Him permitting it. However, given the urgent need to find a housing solution for the family, as well as the many costs associated with replacing a home, I thought it essential to start this petition and call on anyone who can support the family with whatever amount possible. I also ask everyone to keep the family in prayer as they go though this time, so that God's peace and assurance comfort them throughout. Thank you so much in advance!
