The Samara Fund

A year and a half ago I made the tough desision to venture into the world on my own because my moms household was abusive and it was no longer safe for me to live there. We had made a compromise this summer stating that she would help me out a little financially with rent and my phone bill. Since school has started I have worked 30-40 hours a week just to survive while also attending Verona Area High School as a full time student. It has been hard balancing 4 AP classes, work, and keeping up with home upkeep such as cleaning and making meals for myself but I've been able to manage ok. Just this weekend (December 2nd) my mom has decided to drop all financial support and cut me off completely from her family. I'm left with a feeling of loss and helplessness. I am facing homelessness as an 18 year-old still in high school. I am hoping to attend a University next year to persue a career in photography but in order to reach this goal I need to get to the end of summer. I am looking to lease another apartment but since the majority of my money has always gone to rent I am left with zero savings. I'm hoping to raise as much money as I can to help me pay a downpayment on an apartment and help me afford little things such as toilet paper and toothpaste just to get me back on my feet again. I know I have the strength in me to succeed but I need the help of those who can to give me something to lean on.
