The Robert Cole Cancer Campaign

Robert Cole was diagnosed in 2014 with a Grade II OligoAstrocytoma brain tumor. This diagnosis came 8 years after his family moved from Georgia, where he started as the children's pastor at Ephesus Church and later became the Headmaster at Effingham Christan School, to his hometown of Modesto, California, to be a bi-vocational pastor of a church plant.
He had surgery soon after his diagnosis in May 2014 and continued to serve as pastor of Berean Baptist Church, while working full time, despite extreme exhaustion and back issues. As fatigue and additional health issues increased, in 2015, it became necessary to close Berean Baptist. This past year, Dawn stopped homeschooling their children in order to begin the teacher credentialing program while also taking a 1st/2nd grade teaching position.
Recently, with increased seizure activity and neurological sequale, a scan was performed which showed tumor growth; so, he has had to start radiation 5 days/week for 5 weeks. Chemo with the drug Temodar started at the same time and will go 6 months. The dosage will be light at first and then increase significantly after radiation. In addition to the brain tumor, Robert also has had issues with ruptured discs in his back and is having recurring pain which will require additional medical treatment.
Please help raise funds and offer up prayers for the Coles. He can no longer work or drive and is now on short term disability which is only 60% of what he was making. The journey for brain cancer patients is difficult and lengthy emotionally, physically and financially. Please give back to a servant of God who has touched the lives of so many. Every dollar makes a difference for him, his wife, and their children. The funds from this account will go to pay the surmounting medical bills they have incurred and will continue to incur. The cost of the medial care even with insurance can exceed their income on its own. The costs for Robert alone will exceed $1500 per month (treatments, medications, MRI’s, etc). This does not include any medical or dental costs for Robert’s wife, Dawn, or their kids.
