Sass and Snarl present 'The Revolution Will Be Televised' Livestream Fundraiser
I and founder of Sass and Snarl Keely have put together a fantastic two-da
y event consisting of a conference and DJ Showcase to raise money for Key Change and Vibe Excel in order to fund more of the fantastic work they do to fight for equality and support women and the underrepresented in the music industry.
I and Keely recognise there is an evident need for change being women in the industry ourselves which is why we have decided to put this event on.
The event is all about bringing a conversation, developing the next generation, and building an industry that isn’t intimidated by confidence when it shows up as a woman or in black skin or in anything that isn’t our preferred archetype of leadership. Our aim to invest in the future of the music industry by encouraging young creatives to start investing in themselves as well as showcasing the amazingly creative women already out there to inspire more women and girls to give music a go!
What is Sass and Snarl?
Founded by Keely Liptrot, Sass and Snarl is a platform that helps you invest in yourself and the future of the Music Industry. Sass and Snarl deliver motivational talks, interactive workshops, and networking sessions to businesses, universities, and communities across the music industry. Described as "The Agony Aunt to Young Creatives" Sass and Snarl is here to inspire, educate and motivate the next generation of music.
What is Vibe Excel?
Vibe Excel is a charitable organisation recently founded by Lucy Mccourt.
Lucy is an Award-nominated blogger, content creator & activist that has been highlighting the lack of women in the music industry. Although this charity is still in its early stages Lucy has a passion for making the evidently needed changes in the industry to encourage and support more women to pursue music.
Her aim is to provide young children from primary and secondary school education with the tools they need to pursue a career in the music industry by funding music lessons, creating educational resources, in-school presentations, workshops, and donating artwork showcasing female musicians to be put on display in music departments.
What is Key Change?
Keychange is a movement that counts the discounted. They take action to empower talented underrepresented genders with training, mentoring, and network support plus conferences and showcasing opportunities at partner festivals.
Supported by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, Keychange is a global network and movement working towards a total restructuring of the music industry in reaching full gender equality.
