Note: The photo shown was taken during the summer of 2019, one year before the pandemic.
The Read & Write Program, founded over 25 years ago, is the only free, year-round supplemental literacy program providing early intervention (accepting children at four and a half years of age), tailored to meet the specific and multiple needs of underserved Kingston students who might otherwise drop out of school.
This summer, the Read & Write Program, along with other local organizations, has partnered with the city of Kingston to provide educational and social support for students during this difficult time. The Read & Write program is proud to be part of this network.
To provide an enriching experience to our young participants, we are asking for donations to offer dance, yoga, and other activities to those who take part in the program this summer.
Also, the cost to supply each kid with their own crayons, markers, masks (which get lost when they go home or wet during the day -eek) is great. So your donations make a tremendous difference in helping to keep those supplies available for each kid and we are so thankful.
