THE RAPHAELYN FOUNDATION - FOOD FOREST FARM

In Liberia (western Africa) a group of community-minded people have been getting or making donations for some years to feed the elderly, mothers and others finding it difficult to survive much less live a reasonable life.

In 2019, we worked together to get them registered as a NGO Charity in Liberia and that finally happened in September after a long and slow six-months process.

This magnificent group of volunteers don't want hand-outs. They with others want to develop a farm where they can grow produce. This they can distribute then to those less fortunate and support with food volunteers working on the farm and their families.

In recent weeks, they have started the search for land. It looks promising that they will find suitable land soon. However, the need for money to purchase the land is urgent. All donations will help tremendously.

More details of what is needed is given there and some specific donation opportunities are set out there also. Every dollar however will make an enormous difference to these enthusiastic volunteers.

But it's more than food distribution. In September 2019, the Foundation sponsored its first five children into education. Three boys and two girls. We want to double that number each year, while ensuring gender equality among the children sponsored. Educating girls makes a huge difference to a community.

I have been honoured (and privileged to accept) to become the Chair of this Foundation. The Executive Director (Raphaelyn) is a remarkable young lady I've had the privilege to know for some four years. 

Raphaelyn, the wonderful team of volunteers and I are working hard to turn the dreams of this group into reality. It will be hard work to turn their 10-year Mission Charter (see website) into reality, but all of us will be working strenuously to achieve the vision.

We will not be able to do it without the wonderful support of you our supporters and generous donors, if you are able to donate.
