Wildhorse needs help following tragic loss

Donation protected

A healing ranch for horses and humans needs some support to have time to grieve and heal after a tragic, sudden and traumatic loss of their daughter who, after months of battling with depression and seeking help from health care professionals, horses, nature and everything she had access to, sadly took her own life this fall.

Diane, the mother of the young woman who passed away, is the owner and operator of Wildhorse Ranch and requested the cause of death not be left out of this write up because suicide is something that needs to be spoken about and she is determined to be part of helping build more awareness as well as more access to help for those struggling now and in the future. She aims to expand their already healing ranch into even more of a sanctuary for those struggling in the depths of mental health battles.

While she does this, she also needs some time to honour her own healing journey as well, this is where we can help...

Hundreds if not thousands of us so far have been touched and healed by both Diane and the Wildhorse herd of horses at the Wildhorse Ranch. We have been listened to, supported, and guided into finding our own voices, our own power and healing in ways we didn't know was possible.
We have become a part of a family, and like so many of the rescued horses who come to the sanctuary of the Wildhorse Ranch, we have found our way to a home where we can express and be accepted for who we truly are. We have found a place to have time and space to heal and grow.
The horses are respected and celebrated and no matter the age, breed, color, traumatic history, they are protected and cared for until the end of their time here in this magic place.

And now, the ranch and Diane could really use our help.

Recently Diane lost her daughter in a very sudden, tragic and traumatic way. A way that requires some time and some space to heal and process, much like the space she provides for so many of us.
But due to the costs of keeping a herd of 50 horses year-round and all of the vet bills that come along with caring for horses that are sometimes thrown out, there isn't really any time to take the that needed time....
But money is really tight after both costs from this tragedy as well as unexpected costs for the horses so business must go on non-stop to make enough to pay the bills to keep this place running for horses and humans alike who need it....
But, we could give the ranch the gift it has given so many of us if we could even help support the ground level income needed so at least they can have a couple of months to heal and bounce back in a new way.

So, let's make it happen for her and for the horses this winter!

After all, who heals the healers?:)
