The Quinn Fike Memorial Fund

The Quinn Fike Memorial Fundraiser GoFundMe has been created to help with burial expenses and bereavement time for the family.  Our beloved Quinn, 16, did not survive a June 8 hiking accident near our home in Las Vegas.

Quinn had just completed her junior year at the Las Vegas Academy where she studied dance and pre-collegiate courses. This summer she had been invited to visit the University of California at Berkeley's medical studies department to attend a summer study program for high school students who intend to pursue medical careers. Quinn was an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed tennis, hiking, mountain climbing and camping with her family. In May, she and her mother, Tonia, attended the three-day Coachella Music Festival in Southern California. Most recently, she had just returned from a 15-day rafting trip down the Colorado River with her father, Gary, step-mother, Mary and her brother Owen.

Three months ago, Quinn was diagnosed with Type One diabetes. She was dedicated to learning to live life as fully as possible as a diabetic. Part of the proceeds from this memorial fund will also be used to pay for outstanding medical bills due to her recent hospitalization.

Quinn was the light of our lives – intelligent, creative, beautiful and dedicated to making an everlasting impact in this world. She will be greatly missed.

We greatly appreciate the services of the countless emergency personnel, volunteers along the family and friends who helped us find Quinn on June 8.

Quinn was preceded in death by her brother, Ian Fike (2004). She is survived by her mother, Tonia Fike, her father Gary (Mary) Fike and her brother Owen, 15 along with a half brothers Jason, Orion and Paul and her aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of close family friends.

Memorial services will be announced in the coming days.
