I'm reaching out to you to ask your consideration for any kind of support for my family. Any consideration would be greatly appreciated.
My brother Ralph and his family live in Texas, they have been there since 1995. They have made it through a few hurricanes but never suffered more than wind damage.
I'm just off the phone with my brother, they've lost everything...everything to Harvey and no insurance. They didn't have flood insurance because they live in a no flood zone. I can't even.........
They were evacuated out by air-boat and dropped at a park. They had to walk to a shelter, a nearby church, but weren't allowed in because they had pets. Stood out in the wind and rain under a canopy for a few hours until my niece in Huston was able to reach a friend who was closer to my brother to go get them. They are now in the home of the parents of a friend of my nieces. 3 families and 8 dogs, no power. My niece made it through the hurricane with only wind and power loss damage. She is lucky enough that her house is at a higher elevation.
Ralph and his family are in shock but still trying to plan ahead, they have applied for disaster relief hoping for some assistance. They will try to get close to the house as soon as possible to assess how much damage and loss. All money raised through this effort will be used to start rebuilding their lives after Harvey. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
