On Friday, my best friend lost her mom, Carol, after a long fight with brain cancer. Danielle, along with her father, Edwin, and sister, Ashley, have had more than their fair share of misfortune over the years and they could really use some help with funeral and medical expenses.
Carol got sick in March of 2016 and had since been in and out of hospitals. Her illness left her unable to work and a family who was already feeling tight on money, had to cut back even further, including downsizing their house. They moved two weeks ago and are still living out of boxes.
Her family was with her every step of the way, staying overnight at hospitals with her and making sure she was never alone. Carol was receiving treatment from Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital and was a part of a clinical treatment trial there. Anything that is left over from the donations, the family would like to donate to Sloan in memorial of Carol.
As some of you may know, the family has had a difficult few years after the passing of Danielle's brother, Anthony, five years ago. That, coupled with the tragedy on Friday, has left the family absolutely grief stricken.
Anything that you could contribute would be incredibly helpful and I know the Pfeifer's would really grateful. They could really use some love and support right now.
