The Peaceful Produce Cooler

Greetings!

Kent Natural Foods Co-op is extremely grateful for all the support we have received throughout our 50 year history! In 2017, we raised funds to renovate our store and purchase a brand new produce cooler to accommodate all the great fruits and vegetables from local farms and beyond. The cooler is quite a bit larger than our old one and, although it provides a lot more space for the produce, it also provides a lot more noise in the store. Sometimes. we feel like we have to shout over the produce cooler compressor to be heard.

Many attempts to quiet the cooler were made. The manufacturer was contacted to find out if there were any remedies. They replied that most stores put the compressor on the roof. We contacted Miller's refrigeration and asked Paul Miller, the owner, if we could move the compressor to the roof to eliminate the noise. He said it was possible and provided us with a written estimate.

We therefore are asking our membership and customers if they will support us in our effort to raise $5,000 to move the produce cooler compressor to the roof? We believe a quieter store will make the shopping experience much more peaceful. (Not to mention giving the staff a break from the excessive background noise)

No amount is too small and we are extremely grateful for your support!
