This corner of Haringey is under resourced and local people really need a place to meet and share as there has been so much isolation due to Covid lock-downs.
Inspirit support people leaving treatment to learn and develop confidence and independence.
Our ask: is for enough money to refurbish the very old kitchen and make it a place for cookery classes and for making food to share and sell in the café. We hope we can do this for £5500
What this will mean to us: To have this kitchen will enable local people to have a place to meet and talk and share knowledge and experience and ex-service users will have a place where they can make the important transition to being an integrated member of their community. The kitchen will not just be for classes, it will the centre of a new community hub that will offer a place of safety for people with multiple disadvantages, and a place where they can support each other in their transition to the community. The wider plan is to provide a social space, with training delivery, skill share projects and wider community events. We'd like the café to be able to earn enough money to provide a small income to service users who will eventually be able to earn some money running it together.
We'd like to raise the funds by the end of May so that we can have a working kitchen by the summer.
Thank you! Once the kitchen is built, we will hold a celebration to thank everyone for their support.
