Urgent call to support a troubadour in need

The Covid pandemic hit everyone hard: Stevie Tombstone was sidelined with no work and very little safety net. Yet, he weathered the pandemic like everyone else for 18 months - watching the work dry up and the earnings dwindle: music venues closed, and the circuit for this traveling musician disappeared.

 

Contracting Covid and feeling the weight of many decades on the road, Stevie’s medical issues came home to roost during the pandemic and continue even afterward.

 

It is common knowledge that housing went wonky as a result. The eviction moratorium meant that Stevie would eventually be displaced - while housing prices soared and it became difficult to find suitable work to afford basic living expenses.

 

With a growing boy to love and support, this is a challenging position to be in.

 

The good news is - Stevie can get medical help and begin to resolve health issues - CT scans and MRIs to find out and treat what appeared to be a sentence to “live with perpetual pain.” And be unable to care for himself, let alone his child. But that doesn’t have to be true because treatment is available. Stevie wants to be well so he can get out and keep making his music and supporting his family.

 

Now he is taking the time out from work, accepting help from family and becoming willing to address the deeper medical issues.

 

Grateful for the support and shelter of friends and family, his status yet still falls through the cracks of public assistance and affordable health care.

 

At this point, hospital bills are in excess of $8,405.00, and more are coming in from emergency room visits (as the only option for the uninsured) and multiple dental surgeries.
