I am raising money to help create a platform to raise awareness for women’s health and sexual issues such as Endometriosis, Polycystic Ovaries Syndrome and Rape within the Black & Ethnic Minority community. I currently suffer with endometriosis and it took 8 years for me to get a diagnosis.
These issues are heavily undiagnosed amongst BAME women due to historical evidence of us not being believed when we are in pain or discomfort. I have suffered years of indescribable pain, and mental health issues due to my own battle with endometriosis, previous sexual abuse and miscarriage.
This platform will help to raise awareness of taboo subjects and the different conditions we as women suffer with everyday. This will range from Post Natal Depression and Miscarriages all the way through to Arranged Marriages and Sexual Abuse. This will explore many races, religions and perceptions in the BAME communities. This funding will help to create content by way of videos via YouTube and other social media platforms, merchandise and campaigns to promote awareness and also build a brand to help many other minorities across the globe with these issues. I would also like to help conquer period poverty amongst the deprived and those in third world countries.
My goal is £1000:
This will breakdown into
£400 for a good camera to film interviews and segments with many different women to allow their stories to be heard.
£400 for a laptop to edit, and produce content
£200 for a logo, flyer and promotions on social media.
This project is extremely close to my heart and I feel with this great start and with your help, it could help to change the lives of women around the world. It will allow women to discuss things in a safe place and amongst a community of fellow survivors, whether they have survived Domestic Violence, Rape or Infertility, I will vow to use this opportunity to give them an opportunity to tell their truth. I am extremely grateful for all donations towards this great cause.
I would really appreciate all donations.
